Influenced by the early Colonial traditions of the French and Spanish, this style responds to the warm climate of the South - resulting in distinctive homes where large porches, balconies, tall windows and high ceilings provided escape from the heat and rain. The character of the Southern Traditional home is balanced, stately and relaxed. Local materials were always used.
